2 Box Alarms 2 Locations 1 First Due

55 Cavalry Field Rd & 727 Chambersburg Rd

On 02/19/2010 at 18:34 hrs Co.1, E33-1 (United), ET-19 (Bonneauville) & ET-14 (Irishtown), EMS & Fire Police were  pre-alerted to Box 1-8,  55 Cavalry Field Road for a reported stove fire. E1-1 (Chief Baldwin) arrived O/S with a light smoke condition in a 2 story Farm House.  LT-1 (Folster) assigned investigation group who reported a oven fire that extended to the chimney chase.  Truck 1 (DC Shank) assigned to bring equipment in by foot due to poor road conditions that did not allow T-1 to make closer access.  Rescue 1 (Capt. Wasylyk) assigned Div. 2 & Truck 1 basement Division.  Deputy 1 along with  T-1 staged on Cav. Field Rd @ the entrance to the long driveway along with the  remaining box alarm units which were place in service @ 1929 hrs. 

Shortly after units arrived on scene @ 55 Cavalry Field Rd, Communications notifed Chief 1 of a 2nd box alarm @ 727 Chambersburg Rd for smoke in the building.  Chief 1 held all units dispatched on Box 1-8 and advised dispatch to proceed with mutual aid companies for the 2nd incident which alerted Co's  4 (Cashtown), 2 (Fairfield), 5 (Arendtsville), 6 (Biglerville) & 22 ( Barlow).  Units arrived to find a light smoke condition but no source to be located.  After extensive investigation the building was turned over to maintenance and FD returned to service @ 2026 hrs.
