- Firefighter Roger Heyser manuevers Quint 1's aerial into position to
extinguish the fire which had quickly spread to the attic of the Pub &
Restaurant on Lincoln Square. The building on the left suffered minimal
damage as fire departments directed their efforts to protect the adjacent
exposure buildings. Thick smoke laid in the streets more than two blocks

Gettysburg Firefighter George Gallagher is backed up GFD
firefighter Roger Miller as they direct an 1 3/4" attack line on the
fire. At least 10 Adams County fire departments were called in by mutual
aid for manpower to assist with the fire. Firefighters were on the scene

Tower 6 from Emmitsburg, MD was called in to
assist with the fire almost immediately after arrival of first-in units.
In this photo, the Tower is used to extinguish fire through the second floor
window openings on the side of the building to get underneath the tin roof of
