Vehicle Accident

Box 1-9 - U.S. Route 15

[Hot Shot Photo 1] A Maryland woman died as the result of a traffic accident on U.S. Route 15, just north of Route 97, where a tractor trailer collided with the vehicle as it attempted to make a U-turn on a section of the road marked for use by emergency and authorized vehicles. In this photo, Gettysburg firefighters assist EMS and Medic 28 crew with treatment on two of the four occupants of the vehicle. Three of the four doors had to be removed with the Hurst Paladin tool to make access to the injured occupants.


[Hot Shot Photo 2] In this photo, Gettysburg firefighters assist EMS and Medic 28 crew with removal of two patients from the vehicle for transport to Gettysburg Hospital.


[Hot Shot Photo 3] Maryland State Police helicopter, Trooper 3, was called to the incident for patient transport. Littlestown Engine 20-1, Ambulance 20-A, and Ambulance 20-A-1 assisted at the accident.
