RESPONDING APPARATUS:
Quint 1, Engine 1-2, Truck 1

Early Saturday morning at 0339 hours units were dispatched for a house on fire at 222 York Street. Shortly after units went responding communications advised of an infant trapped on the second floor. Quint 1 arrived to find a 2 ½ story brick apartment building with a light smoke condition and glass in the street, indicating there was an explosion on the first floor.

Crews from Quint 1 directed by the Assistant Chief (Blocher) completed a primary search and extinguishing a small fire with a can. Crews remained completing ventilation and assisting EMS with a burn patient. Additional units responding included Engine 1-2 and Truck 1. Chief 1 (Weikert) assumed command with the Deputy Chief (Knerr) assuming operations officer. Units cleared and were ready for service in 25 minutes.
