On Wednesday June 30th, GFD & AREMS dispatched for an auto collision with unknown injuries in the area of 785 Baltimore Street, Gettysburg Boro. Upon response of the Deputy Chief, he was advised by Adams County 911 of a vehicle that struck a utility pole, lives wires across the roadway and a fire on or near the pole. Deputy Chief 1 arrived on scene , established Baltimore Street Command and located a small Tour Bus that had struck a utility pole that contained a transformer, shearing it off at the base and causing the bus to rest in a nearby driveway. The bus driver and his 4 occupants were all self extricated and suffered minor injuries during the incident. Met-Ed and other utility companies were notified for a expedited response. The roadway remained closed for several hours until repairs could be completed.
