| Today the fire service lost a gentle giant with the passing of Commissioner Roth. Born and raised in Gettysburg, his start in the fire service began as a Jr. FF with the Gettysburg FD. GFD and The Hanover FD share a mutual respect for one another going back well over a hundred years. For many decades it was Commissioner Roth who led the Hanover FD, both accepting and receiving mutual aid between our departments. He would often say it was always good seeing GFD when needed.
Godspeed, you will be missed by many.
