The Gettysburg Fire Department and Deputy Chief Temarantz would like to Thank ALL Emergency Responders & Fire Police who assisted on Monday March 1st 2021 @ the Multiple Alarm Building Fire in Gettysburg Borough on Baltimore Street. This was a large scale incident that required resources and manpower outside of our normal Box Alarm Response Cards making this a multi alarm fire +. Without the response of everyone near and far this incident could have had a much different outcome but because of the aggressive efforts of all personnel we were able to keep damage to the affected buildings only and injuries limited. While this incident did have a fatal outcome to one occupant of the vehicle that was beyond our control and 3 minor FF injuries, everyone else responded and returned home safely.

We want to especially call attention to and Thank FF Chris Williams (off duty Anne Arundel County, MD FD) , FF Mike Six (Cashtown FD) and resident Phil Letendre along with the Gettysburg PD Officers who selflessly and without thought jumped into action by helping residents evacuate their apartments and also by rescuing an elderly female from her rear balcony prior to the FD's arrival. These men undoubtedly help to save lives that morning and while not looking for the "Hero" status in any manner will not go unrecognized for their actions. THANK YOU !!!!

Finally we want to give a HUGE shout out and Thank you to O'Rorkes Restaurant for opening your doors to all of our 1st responders on this incident and allowing us use of your facilities, providing warm and delicious food , beverages and snacks. Thank you !

Along with O'Rorkes, another thank you to the following for their assistance in provisions of refreshments etc.: Dunkin', Sheetz, 1-800-BOARDUP & American Red Cross along with each and every person who offered help ,refreshments & facilities throughout the day.
