Congratulations Past Chief & Life Member Allen Baldwin

The Gettysburg Fire Department would like to extend our Congratulations to Past Fire Chief & Life Member Allen Baldwin who will assume the role of Fire Chief for the York County (VA) Department of Fire and Life Safety, effective today July 1st, 2025. Many people have walked through the doors becoming valuable members of the Gettysburg Fire Department serving our community and moving on to other careers just as Chief Baldwin has done and one who has a long-standing history with the GFD, holding all ranks of Leadership as well as a past Career Fire Chief in the Borough of Chambersburg, Asst. Chief of the Winchester, Va Fire Department and a Pa State Certified Fire Instructor. Chief Baldwin has been with the York County DFLS as Deputy Chief since January 2023 and will now bring his extensive experience to his new role as Fire Chief. A well-deserved and earned position that will without doubt be nothing but the best for the members and citizens of York County. Congratulations to Chief Baldwin, a person many of us call friend.
