| Date/Time: October 30, approximately 1:20 AM
Location: Waynesboro Pike, Liberty Township, near the Pennsylvania–Maryland state line
Truck 1 was dispatched as part of the working fire assignment for a house fire with possible entrapment. First-arriving units from Frederick County, Maryland (Emmitsburg Co.6), arrived on scene to find heavy fire showing from the first floor of a 2 story single family dwelling extending up toward the roofline.
Initial companies initiated an aggressive interior/exterior fire attack due to reports of a possible occupant trapped inside. It was later confirmed that the occupant had safely exited the structure and was unharmed.
Upon arrival, Truck 1 assisted with interior operations, including opening up walls and ceilings to check for fire extension and extinguishing visible fire. Multiple mutual aid companies from Adams, Frederick, and Franklin Counties operated on scene for several hours in heavy rain. The fire was eventually brought under control after extensive overhaul and ventilation efforts.
