Recently, former Fire Chief Robert Heflin, who served as Fire Chief in 1969, visited the Gettysburg Fire Department for a ride around town. The visit brought back memories of his time leading the department, especially in the absence of the annual Gettysburg Christmas Parade.

Chief Heflin is the oldest living former Fire Chief of the Gettysburg Fire Department. In addition to his service as Fire Chief, he has also served as a councilman and as Mayor of the Borough of Gettysburg. During his visit, Chief Heflin was joined by current Fire Chief Ken Kime and family.
