At 1508 hours, units were alerted for the MVC w/entrapment at a well known location for many previous accidents of the same nature at the Herrs Ridge & Chambersburg Road intersection. MICU54-8 arrived on scene to confirm a small SUV overturned with one conscious and alert patient trapped in the drivers seat. R1 arrived, utilized the Res-Q-Jack struts for stabilization and removed the drivers door for access to the patient , who was then safely extricated and turned over to EMS for further treatment. Engine 4-1 (Cashtown) provided fire suppression standby while E1-1 personnel assisted R1. Fire Police from Co.1 & 4 provided traffic control while units operated on the scene and then for some time after until the vehicle was removed. In total 1 patient transported to an area hospital with 1 patient refusal. Personnel operated on scene for approximately 1 hour w/Asst Chief Temarantz having the Command.
