The Gettysburg Fire Department is constantly seeking new members, whether the individual is interested in firefighting, rescue operations, fire police, EMS or simply assisting with non-emergency activities. For almost two hundred years Gettysburg has maintained all firefighters on a volunteer status amidst rising call volumes and decreasing volunteerism. In order to maintain the quality of service that we provide, new, sustaining members of the department are essential to our operations.

Training for all members is provided at no cost by the Gettysburg Fire Department.  Whether you've been part of a fire company for years or are just getting started, there is a place for you in Company 1!
