It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that the Gettysburg Fire Department announces the passing of Honorary Member Dr. Edward J. Baranski. Dr. Baranski was an Honorary member of our organization, leading the committee that built our current firehouse. Dr. Baranski’s interest in Gettysburg Fire Department stems from a fire that occurred at his residence in which volunteers from the community organization responded to. Dr. Baranski’s commitment to Gettysburg Fire Department is reflected by a marble bench outside our museum. Our condolences to all friends and family of Dr. Edward Baranski.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at 1:30 PM from St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Gettysburg, PA with Fr. Michael Pray celebrant. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Gettysburg, PA. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 18, 2025 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg, PA.
